ADRIAN, Michigan - New London's Derek Chaffins was named the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week earlier this season, pitching for Siena Heights University.

Chaffins, who is a freshman, picked up his first two collegiate victories over Goshen College (Indiana) and Rochester College (Michigan) to capture the honor. He pitched 14 innings and did not allow an earned run. He also struck out five batters.

The Saints just finished the regular season with 19 wins and start WHAC tournament play this weekend.
