Krewson named Patriot League Rookie of the Year

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Perkins’ Trisha Krewson capped off a solid freshman season playing basketball at Bucknell University this season, earning Patriot League Rookie of the Year honors.

She averaged nearly six points and three rebounds in 28 games, including 18 starts in just her freshman season.

Krewson’s also notched a selection to the Patriot League All-Rookie Team and was the Rookie of the Week twice during the season.

She earned her first Rookie of the Week honor after earning her first career start in January against Buffalo. She tallied 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting and grabbed five rebounds, while dishing four assists.

The second Rookie of the Week claim came after another break-out performance at Navy in February. Krewson scored her career-high 18 points as she hit her first four three-pointers. She also tied a personal high in rebounds with seven and shot 2-for-2 from the free throw line, helping the Bison to a perfect 12-for-12 night at the line.

The Bisons went 16-12 and earned a No. 3 seed in the Patriot League Tournament, but were disappointed in a quarterfinal round loss to sixth-seeded Navy.

Krewson was a four-year letter winner in basketball and soccer at Sandusky Perkins. Her senior year she was selected McDonald’s All-American and second team All-Ohio. She was an All-Ohio honorable mention her junior season.

Stay tuned for tomorrow's update on her former teammate Cierra Bravard.
