Bressler swims way to NCAA Championships after earning All-MIAA
MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota - Perkins' Monica Bressler enjoyed a super sophomore season, earning an All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association selection and making her first-ever trip to the NCAA Division III Championships, swimming for Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The Knights scored 171 points for a seventh-place finish and made the top 10 for the fifth consecutive year.
Bressler broke two school records over the course of the weekend. Her time of 2:07.56 in the backstroke, along with her 58.45 time in the 100 backstroke were a school-best.
At the MIAA Championships held at Notre Dame earlier in the season, Bressler was the league runner-up in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke. She also placed fourth in the 50 freestyle (24.10) and swam on Calvin's first-place 200 freestyle, 200 medley and 400 medley relay teams.
