Walton notches second game with 100 yards receiving at Heidelberg


Elyria’s Mario Walton recorded his second game with over 100 yards receiving for Heidelberg in a 35-34 loss to Otterbein in Ohio Athletic Conference play at Mayer Field on Saturday.

Quarterback Andrew Miller completed 29 of 46 passes for a career-best 423 yards. Miller’s top target was Euclid’s Mike Preston with 15 catches for 210 yards and Walton, who had eight catches for 119 yards. It was the second time in his career, that Walton has eclipsed the 100-yard mark. He opened the year with a career-best 135 yards at Alma College.

Linebackers Vaughn Klein and Keystone’s Andy Fadenholz, along with Amherst’s Tyler Levanduski and Travis Coates paced the defense.

Fadenholz had 12 tackles, while Levanduski had 10. Fadenholz and Levanduski recorded career-highs for tackles. It was the second straight outing that Fadenholz has finished with double digit tackles. Levanduski had an interception at the goal line.
