Southview graduate Derek Conti is a sophomore linebacker at Ashland University.

Conti hasn't recorded a tackle yet this season as he learns the Eagles' defense.

Conti earned All-Lorain County honors as a defensive end his senior year at Southview. He was a three-time letterwinner in football and a two-time letterwinner in baseball.

Ashland is currently 1-2 with its only win coming against Bloomsburg, 24-14. The Eagles' two losses are to Indianapolis (17-12) and Hillsdale (27-17).

Their upcoming game is Saturday at Northern Michigan.
