Schlessman named player of the week for Kenyon
Perkins’ Amy Schlessman was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week, after winning both her matches at Wooster to lead Kenyon to a 9-0 victory on Monday.
Schlessman earned the conference's weekly award after posting a perfect 6-0 record in three matches last week.
Schlessman moved up a rung from her normal spot at second singles and posted a perfect, 6-0, 6-0 victory in the top flight to run her singles record for the season to 12-7. She also paired with fellow freshman Amanda Polster, of Shaker Heights, for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles. Polster took over for Schlessman at No. 2 singles and didn't miss a beat in picking up a 6-3, 6-2 decision.
