Weber named USCAA Player of the Week at Columbia Union College in Maryland


TAKOMA PARK, Maryland - Clearview's Anthony Weber, a junior right fielder, was named the player of the week in the United States Corporate Athletic Association last month playing baseball at Columbia Union College in Maryland.

For the week, Weber hit .369 (7-for-19) with six RBIs and five runs scored in six games.

He finished the season third in batting average (.353) and led the team in RBIs (36), runs scored (29), doubles (13) and second on the team in hits (42) and home runs (two). He started all 36 games and the Pioneers (last year's national champions) currently stand at 21-15.

Weber was named honorable mention in the AMC last season. He led the team in hits, doubles, runs and RBIs.

Southview’s Mike Carney has made 23 appearances, including 21 starts, and holds a .200 batting average. He has two doubles, one triple, one home run and seven RBIs.
