Chrapczynski wins twice at NCAC Championships
Amherst graduate Shawn Chrapczynski had a great meet for Oberlin College at the NCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Chrapczynski won the long jump and 200 meters. He was also fourth in 100 meters and part of the second place 4x400 relay and third place on the 4x100 relay.
Chrapczynski won the 200 meters in 22.33. His time in his fourth-place finish in the 100-meter dash was 11.25. In the 4x100 relay, he ran the anchor leg to help the team finish third overall.
The Yeomen concluded the amazing weekend by finishing second in the 4x400-meter relay as they pushed conference-leading OWU from start to finish. Senior Solomon Turner led things off and was followed by Morris, Hull and Chrapczynski as they combined to finish the race in 3:21.26, just slightly back of OWU (3:19.93).
The Yeomen finished in third place with 135 points.

Chrapczynski sets school record in the pentathlon

Amherst’s Shawn Chrapczynski set a new Oberlin College record that highlighted the day for Oberlin at the NCAC Indoor Pentathlon.
Chrapczynski totaled 3,105 points on the day and was just two points back of Ohio Wesleyan’s Andrew Diehl, who won the event with 3,107 total tallies. Chrapczynski picked up eight critical team points for the Yeomen, which will go a long way in determining their finish at the NCAC Championships next week.
The pentathlon consisted of one athlete competing in the 1,000 meters, 55-meter hurdles, high jump, long jump and shot put. Chrapczynski’s best performances came in the long jump, which he won with a mark of 21-01.50, and the 1,000 meters where he paced second in 2:51.12.
"This was a great way to kickoff the conference championships," Head Coach Ray Appenheimer said. "Shawn was just awesome today and he truly displayed his great athletic ability."

Chrapczynski named NCAC Sprinter of the Week

Amherst’s Shawn Chrapczynski, a sophomore, was named as the North Coast Athletic Conference Sprinter of the Week for his performance running for Oberlin College at the Duke Invitational in Durham, North Carolina over the weekend.
Chrapczynski competed in the 100 (11.11), 200 (22.09) and 400 (50.95). He placed in the top 15 in all three events, highlighted by a 12th-pace finish in the 45-man field in the 400.
