Coolidge places 27th at Big 12 Cross Country Championships
Elyria Catholic graduate and state champion Marty Coolidge is having success running cross country at the college level, where he runs for Iowa State.
This past season in indoor competition, Coolidge finished 26th in the 3,000-meter run (8:34.94) at the Big 12 Indoor Championships.
He competed unattached, ran a personal best in the 3,000-meter run (8:10.96) at the ISU Open. He finished fourth in the 3,000-meter run (8:22.40) at the ISU Classic and finished 38th (31:02.99) at the 2010 NCAA Midwest Regional. He finished 27th at the 2010 Big 12 Cross Country Championships (25:16.54).
This past season in outdoor competition, Coolidge competed in the 5,000-meter run at the Big 12 Championships. He ran a personal-best in the 5,000-meter run (14:19.15) at the Mt. SAC Relays.
At Elyria Catholic, Coolidge was the Division II Ohio State Champion in the 3,200-meters in 2010. He also holds personal records in the 1,600-meters (4:17) and the 3,200-meters (9:03).
