Washington to play in Global Football Italian Classic
Admiral King’s Gabe Washington will be traveling to Italy with the Ohio Northern University football team to play in the Global Football Italian Classic.
Washington is a senior linebacker at ONU earning second team All-Ohio Athletic Conference.
The team will be in Italy from May 24-June1 as they combine sightseeing with football practices as they prepare to take on a local Italian team on Saturday.
Global Football President Patrick Steenberge has produced football games in 18 nations and this year Global Football is scheduled to travel with NCAA DIII college teams to Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland.
During the Global Football Italian Classic, the ONU football team will visit three historical cities – Venice, Florence, and Rome – as well as numerous sites along the way.
The team will enjoy the spectacular sights of the Famous Roman Coliseum in the center of Rome, which is the largest amphitheatre built during the reign of the Roman Empire. It is considered of the greatest works of Roman architecture. They will also visit St. Mark’s Square and Basilica, Rialto Bridge, Florence Duomo, Piazza Signoria, and the Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica.
The trip is organized by Texas-based Global Football (www.GlobalFootball.com).
