Elyria’s Kelly Ruth was named the Atlantic 10 Conference’s Student-Athlete of the Year, while also being named to the All-Conference Second Team last week.

Ruth made 30 starts in 32 games played and racked up 321 kills, along with 254 digs, 45 blocks and 23 serve receptions, accounting for 347 points.

Xavier ended its season two weeks ago with a 3-0 loss to No. 20 Saint Louis in the semifinal of the Atlantic 10 tournament. The Muskateers ended their season with a 20-12 overall record, including 11-4 in the Atlantic 10.

The 20-win season is the school’s 17th in program history and head coach Floyd Deaton’s 12th career 20-win season.
