Avon native signs to play golf at Ole Miss

Avon’s Kyle Kmiecik, who went to St. Ignatius, signed a national letter of intent to join the Ole Miss men’s golf program beginning in the 2010-11 academic year.

Kmiecik earned American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Honorable Mention All-America honors in 2008 and won an AJGA event. In 2009, he posted two top 10 finishes at AJGA events.

"Kyle is an excellent player who I project to be an outstanding college golfer," Head coach Ernest Ross said on the Ole Miss website. "He has very good length off the tee, but what impresses me most is his attitude and work ethic. He is a tireless worker and always has a positive attitude about his game. He has had a good instructor and possesses very good fundamentals in his swing and short game. I am very excited that Kyle chose Ole Miss for college golf."

Ranked the No.1 player in Ohio for 2010, Kmiecik qualified for the USGA Jr. at Trump National in New Jersey and made the All-Ohio in State High School competition.
