New London’s Justina Wise, a freshman pitcher for Baldwin-Wallace, was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Wise helped led the Yellow Jackets to a 4-1 record last week, making four appearances, going 3-0 with wins over Hiram College, John Carroll University and Kenyon College. Wise gave up just three earned runs for a 1.31 earned run average (ERA) in 20 2/3 innings. In addition, she struck out 13 batters while allowing just two walks.

For the season, Wise has a record of 8-2 and is second on the team with a 1.97 ERA. She has appeared in 11 games with 10 starts and has allowed 15 earned runs, 50 hits while striking out 41. She has allowed just four walks in 53 1/3 innings.
