Vermilion’s Mike Virgin, a defensive back, ran back an 84-yard interception for a touchdown to give Tiffin a 31-14 lead Thursday night en route to a 31-21 win over Malone University in their season opener.

Virgin had an outstanding game, registering nine tackles with two interceptions in the game.

As a freshman, Virgin registered 22 tackles, recorded an interception, had a pass defended and recovered a fumble.
